3/30/2021 Tip: Sales Don’t Just Happen

Today’s Quote

“The public is the only critic whose opinion is worth anything at all.”
~ Mark Twain

Today’s Tip

Consider these sales statistics:

80%……….Of all sales are made after the fifth call

48%……….Of all sales people call once and quit

25%……….Call twice and quit

10%……….Keep on calling

Sales don’t just happen. Make sure you follow-up and do so often.

Is your marketing plan working?

Ask yourself these 3 questions to tell if your marketing is failing or succeeding:

  1. Does your marketing generate a steady flow of new leads and sales?
  2. Are your marketing activities growing your profits month after month?
  3. Is your marketing so powerful that your competitors would do anything to get their hands on your marketing plan?

If you answered “NO” to any of these questions, you need to stop what you’re doing, and fix your marketing plan right now.

Today’s Question: What was the original source of the Hearst publishing family’s fortune?

Previous Question: What is the largest American corporation named for an owner’s daughter?

Answer: The Sara Lee Corporation

The company is named for the daughter of Chicago bakery owner Charles Lubvin, who first named a cheesecake after his daughter and then in 1951, his company, which was originally known as the Kitchens of Sara Lee.

Mercedes Benz and Wendy’s were also named after the founders’ daughters. I theorize that naming these ventures after the founders’ daughters gave these entrepreneurs extra incentive to make sure their companies succeeded.
