EMILY BURG

Emily brings to Growthink more than 10 years experience in investment banking and strategic advisory services, with a focus on analyzing deals in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity.

At Growthink, she works on businesses planning, strategic consulting, investment banking and advisory engagements to companies in the entertainment, media, financial services and retail sectors.

Emily joins Growthink after serving as a founding Principal of Linea Capital, the first investment bank and advisory services firm targeting domestic emerging companies catering to the U.S. Hispanic market. Emily sought capital sources for client companies in the media, financial services and consumer products sectors raising series A and B funds and expansion capital up to $15 million, sourced deals up to $20 million and perpetuated the firm's deal flow pipeline. She directed new business development for the firm, and identified potential investment opportunities for private equity, venture capital and hedge funds seeking to diversify their portfolios into domestic emerging markets. Emily also provided fundraising and strategic expertise to companies outside the Hispanic market in media, mobile technologies and film.

Prior to Linea, Emily was regular commentator for CNNfn and CNBC, providing insight on breaking financial news and its impact on the stock market. As an M&A specialist, she was responsible for directing editorial coverage of international financial news in her role as Senior Editor of The Deal, a multimedia M&A news and analysis organization. She was also an analyst with the Worldly Information Network, an organization dedicated to sourcing overseas investment opportunities for U.S. retail investors. Emily began her career in investment banking as an Emerging Markets analyst with Wasserstein Perella (now Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein) specializing in privatizations and private equity transactions in Brazil, Eastern Europe and China.

Emily has an MSc with Distinction from the London school of Economics, and earned her Bachelor's degree with honors in History from Barnard College, Columbia University.
