Growthink Partners With International Wood Company To Provide Industry With $300 Million in Carbon Offset Capacity

Los Angeles, CA: Growthink announced today that the Firm has been named advisor of record to International Wood Company (IWC), a global forestry investment firm.

IWC, which owns two million acres of rainforest located in the Amazon, has partnered with Growthink to develop an analytical model which assesses the property’s current market value and its potential to provide carbon credits to companies seeking to reduce their greenhouse emissions.

“Our work with IWC is just the type of highly sophisticated capital and advisory project that showcases our unique expertise,” said Emily Burg, Growthink’s Director of Strategy. “The two-phase valuation model we’re developing for IWC informs the Company of the current market value of its real estate assets. Most importantly, we can monetize the carbon neutralization capacity of two million acres of rainforest, through issuing carbon credits that can be traded via the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX). We estimate that IWC can provide as much as $300 million in carbon credits to companies seeking to reduce their carbon emissions.”

Growthink’s work on behalf of IWC represents one of a group of projects from the Firm’s robust alternative energy practice. Presently, Growthink is providing advisory and capital services to approximately twelve companies developing alternative energy technologies.
