The U.S. Hispanic Market: Untapped Opportunity for Los Angeles Business
Written by Emily Burg on Tuesday, February 26, 2008
Categories:
The U.S. Hispanic market, combined with the number of successful small businesses in Los Angeles, means that regardless of the fluctuations of the stock exchanges, opportunities continue to germinate on our doorstep. Can you name one business that succeeded by ignoring one-quarter of its potential customers? Neither can we. For Los Angeles businesses, Hispanic consumers present a rich opportunity for growth—and a vital shelter from the possibility of recession we’re seeing in the statistics and signals coming from Washington and Wall Street. Business cycles are a natural component of free markets. But so is opportunity. And the opportunities available to Los Angeles companies embracing the potential of the domestic U.S. Hispanic market will only grow stronger, more diverse and profitable. --- Emily Burg is Director of Strategy at Growthink. Carlos James says
I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In
recent years our state has received
thousands of Latino immigrants.
I would love to start a
service based business for the
immigrant market in my city.
I have a degree from UW-Wisconsin
in International Relations and
always enjoyed working with immigrants.
I would like to know
who I can speak with or if you
can give me more information
on service based business start ups
for the Latino market in my area.
I am willing to open up a small
office. One idea I had is
processing paperwork (financial, immigration,
or medical issues) on behalf of this
population. However, anything with immigration
with the government is very complicated and
difficult.
Nonetheless, I am open
to other ideas.
Any input would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
Carlos James.
