Cooling of Real Estate Market good for private equity/venture capital?
Written by Jay Turo on Thursday, September 13, 2007
Continue to be of the belief that the cooling of the real estate market will be a positive for the private equity/venture capital markets - see very similar market conditions out there as existed in the early to mid 1990's for both markets - a period of great opportunity in venture capital/early-stage company investing and the beginning of a long fallow period in the real estate markets. I think the angel investing markets especially will get more robust, as a lot of the individual speculators in real estate will move $ from that arena into startup company investing. So if you have a good business idea worth pursuing, now is the time to assemble it into a formal plan.
